Wombat Furniture Packages

Why consider a furniture package?

When building a new Rooming House, your builder will have an optional add-on furniture package, typically for around $30,000.

While it may be tempting to save money upfront and skip on the furniture package, our experience shows that furnished units lease quicker and can command a higher rental rate per week compared to unfurnished units.

Tenants prefer the convenience of not needing to move furniture between dwellings and this also means your property is less likely to be damaged or experience wear and tear from tenants moving furniture in and out of the property.

Can I furnish the Rooming House myself?

Yes, you can always furnish a Rooming House yourself.

However, keep in mind that delivery and installation of some items may be more hassle than it's worth. Plus, with a Furniture Package, the cost of furnishings can be deducted as a business expense.

Why choose Wombat?

Having sold and leased plenty of Rooming Houses in Brisbane, we've seen what works, what's worth the extra cost, and what to avoid.

There are Rooming Houses with extra bells and whistles - these typically cost more upfront but don't always translate to a proportional increase in rental income.

And there are Rooming Houses with the lowest-cost furnishings that quickly become dated and can bring down the perception of the property.

We created Wombat Furniture Packages to provide investors with a simple, streamlined process to furnish their new Rooming Houses with everything tenants will need while keeping it as cost-effective as possible.

We'll coordinate the delivery, assembly, installation and garbage disposal of the new furniture and appliances in your property so you can just sit back and relax.
